We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

9:10 am Wyesham: 3 yesterday, Ray had a 5lbs grilse on fly and Peter and Richard Godsall took 2 between them, 10lbs and 12lbs on Flying C with a single hook.

1:48 pm Bigsweir: Now upto 65. 10 fish taken since last friday up to 20lbs with more fish starting to show. 1 or 2 slightly coloured fish reported also. Most fly caught.

12:51 pm Swan Meadow: Usk, Dennis Davies caught a 13lbs salmon yesterday.

11:19 am Cadora: 16lb for Steve Joseph this am. The fish took a minnow.

10:42 am Ingestone: Late report of a fish from last Friday taking them to 40 for the season.

9:42 am Wyesham: Ended the day yesterday on 5, all caught on the fly with 2 large fish lost.

9:27 am Nyth: 7.25am this morning, 11 lb salmon in the Cafn pool on a size 10 Cascade.
