We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

7:41 am Marcin Mankowski caught his first salmon from Caradoc yesterday. Around 17lb it took a flying C. He lost another.

3:24 pm 18lbs on fly to P. Chandler from the Washings at Wyesham this morning

10:03 am The fish reported on Wed from Caradoc was 14 year old French visitor Euan Genevier's first salmon. Taken on his 7th cast, it weighed 25lb!

7:28 am Andy Mills caught his first salmon (15lb 8oz)from the Tunnel beat yesterday and lost a much larger fish lost after extended play.

10:39 am 2nd fish of the day so far from Goodrich Court, this a 19lb salmon (weighed in the net) from the Vanstone caught by Ken Wheeler on spinner.

8:34 pm 2 more from Lower Ballingham (Doctors) 16lb and 18lb.

8:26 pm Tony Norman banked a 19lb fish on a black francis from Cottage pool at Wyesham.

2:51 pm 2 more fish from the Nyth today - Pelham Aldrich-Blake caught a deep bodied 18lb salmon in the General while Alfred Pope had a 13lb fish in the Cafn. Both were fresh run and taken on fly.

2:33 pm A 20lb fish reported from Goodrich Court this afternoon, caught on fly from the Corner Tree. Another fish, ext 18lb, was lost at the net in the Dog Hole.
