We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

10:57 pm 8lb fish from Fennifach this afternoon and another lost. Fish of 12lb and 13lb from the Bryn beat of the Llanover fishery this morning. Llanover is now on 121 for the season.
6:01 pm 2 fish for Steve Hunt from the Wall Pool, Glaslyn
5:38 pm 8lb silver fresh salmon from Wyebank early yesterday morning on a 2.5" willie gunn brass tube with another fish lost just before the water became too coloured.

9:59 am Peter Horsburgh caught a 10lbs hen at 6pm yesterday evening, Glan yr Afon. Slightly coloured. 2.5" Red, Green & Black tube. Fast sinking line.

7:19 pm Stuart Smith took fish at both Eardisley and Letton today weighing 15lbs and 16lbs. A 19lbs fish was landed at the Golden Mile
5:01 pm After losing a fish at the net yesterday at Ty Newydd, Rodney Owen-Jones landed a 6lbs grilse from Dolmeudwy, Llanstephan
2:41 pm Four more salmon to the Spreadeagle beat today: three to Roger Plowden (biggest 15lb) and one 8lb fish to Nigel Smith, his second of the day.
2:40 pm A second fish of the day from Moccas to Hadyn Probert.
1:31 pm Brian Skinner reports 5 from Pwll y Faedda on Tuesday and Wednesday. He caught 2 10lb hen fish and a 13lb cock fish on a 2.5" Waddington and lost 2 others in the House Pool, 1 of which threw the hook after 30mins inches from the net, 30lbs+. Oliver Burch took another 2 around 12lbs. This takes them to 27 fish this year, their previous best season being 18.

10:43 am After fishing the Usk for trout for 20 yrs, Stuart Macoustra has just taken his first ever salmon, a 12lbs colouring cock fish from Chain Bridge on the Usk on a yellow and gold Flying C from the Upper Rock Pool. Fish was released. Congratulations!
10:26 am Lower Glanwye ended yesterday on five fish adding another 17lbs cock fish to the total later in the day. All caught on 1/2" Stoats Tail tungsten tube.
10:08 am Tony Norman caught a hen salmon of around 6lbs at Old Court, Whitney on 2.5 " Willy Gunn then took a second hen fish of 5lbs on a small Stoats Tail under the Oak tree. Both released in the water without touching except with long nose pliers.
10:03 am Another 3 salmon for the Nyth yesterday and 2 lost. They would like to report 'an angler fishing the Nyth and Tyr Celyn caught 11 salmon (8 previously reported) in a three day session and lost 6 more. All fish were safely released.
9:59 am Just below Chainbridge on the Usk, Bob Calcatera caught a 15lb cock fish downstream of wires on a Flying C, fish returned.
9:57 am Bridge Meadow on the Usk took a hen fish of about 11lb caught on Lower Flats. The fish took a Cascade fished on a sink tip double hander. Lost another fish.
