We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

3:54 pm Two salmon today off Home Fishery between 12.30pm and 1.30pm. 25lbs cock fish from Alder pool and 18lbs hen from above the Pumping Station pool. Both on spinner.
1:18 pm Colin Nice took a fresh 25lb cock fish from the Vanstone pool, Goodrich yesterday. Black, yellow and orange homemade 3inch brass tube with a conehead on a fast sinking line. His friend landed a 12lbs kelt.

8:47 pm Further fish reported today from Golden Mile (21.5lb), Sheepwash (14.5lb) and Whitehouse (19lb) There appears to be a decent head of fish in the Hereford to Monmouth section at the moment.
8:13 pm 3 from Lower carrots and Luggsmouth today, all on fly, 10lb, 17lb and 20lb, 2 others lost.
6:55 pm Holme Lacy 3 had its first salmon of the season today with a 20lb fish on spinner.
5:30 pm Tim Edmunds at Caradoc took an 11lb salmon this morning from Crib Hole and in the afternoon a 20lb fish from just above the hut. The latter took forty five minutes to persuade into the net! Both were on a 1.5inch yellow and black tube fly on a sinking tip attached to an intermediate line.
5:08 pm Rene Alleyne reports a 22lber from Alders pool at Courtfield and Gerry Lewis banked a fish of 19lbs from the Old Harp beat.
1:21 pm Bigsweir are now up to 5 for April including a 30lb+ fish yesterday.
12:42 pm Wayne Little is enjoying his first ever days salmon fishing and took an 11lbs fresh salmon at Wyesham within 10 minutes of starting. Congratulations Wayne!
10:09 am Report just in of a big fish lost this morning (10am) at Backney after a 20 minute fight.
9:53 am Lawrence Birkin took 4 salmon yesterday at Aramstone on a spinner, 10lbs cock, 18lbs hen, 25lbs hen and 30lbs hen. He also lost a fifth good fish as well.
9:44 am Report in from Backney yesterday, Keith Maddox took salmon of around 10lb, sea liced, on a red & yellow Devon Minnow.

7:21 pm At Wyesham, John Symonds landed a 12lbs fish from the Cottage Flats, and Joe Cobley a 25 1/2lbs fish from the Pipes. Both sealiced and both on Flying C. Ghillie Ray reports seeing a run of fish today, still high for him at 3'6".
9:53 am Another fish from Lower Ballingham yesterday. Mike Clapham took an 8lb salmon from Upper Bridge Pool at on spinner at 3:30pm.
9:30 am Roger Brown took an 8lbs sea liced salmon at Caradoc yesterday around 2.45pm on a Yellow Belly Devon Minnow.
