We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

11:21 am 16lb salmon from the Abercymryn Pool on the Craig Llyn beat on Saturday.

9:36 am A 6lb fish from Glanwye yesterday evening, their 3rd of the day, taking their total for the season to 22.

1:28 pm Yesterday Robin Woods had a strong 17lber from Newbridge and Brian Jones and his friend each had a fish from the Rectory (11lb and 9lb). A fish was lost on Ty-newydd. High water catches on the Upper river should fish today.

12:49 pm Tony Mobley took a bright 10lbs on FC just before the extra water hit them, from the Golden Mile

11:54 am Bill Baxter took fish of 15lbs and 2 at 12lbs on Ally and Cascade over the Bank Holiday weekend from Rhosferig.

10:58 am Bejamin Woods aged 8, caught his first salmon on Sunday morning. It was a fresh hen fish about 7lb taken on a spinner in the Boat Pool, at Newbridge.

10:27 am 10lbs cock fish taken from Glaslyn just above Craig Llyn by Richard Gipps at 8pm last night on the fly.

1:58 pm Another for the Nyth yesterday caught at 6pm, a 15lb coloured fish caught in the Cafn on fly.

10:43 am Late report of a fish off Gromain last Friday caught by Richard Perret at Bridge Pool gutter by water height marker. Fish took Orange Flame size 8. Fish measured 34inches and was coloured. It was hooked at 4pm and was his first salmon!
