We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

11:12 am Oliver Burch took 30inch hen fish, bright silver, on a size 10 Bann Shrimp from the tail of the Boat Pool, Pwll y Faedda yesterday. Good fly-fishing water for this beat with a tinge of colour - 1 foot 5 inches on Llanstephan gauge

10:10 am Another 12lbs fish reported yesterday from High Bank, Spreadeagle to Paul Craven Smith on fly.

9:31 am A salmon around the 8lb mark was lost on Upper Heirag, Gromain on a small francis fly yesterday around 3pm.

9:26 am 4 more from the Nyth, 2 on Tuesday and 2 yesterday. All 10 - 12lbs, 2 coloured and 2 fresh. One caught on a Flying C Tuesday, the rest on the fly.

3:13 pm Ian Spalding landed 2 more Salmon from Letton Court yesterday. Making an early start he had a 14lber on the fly and this was shortly followed by another fish of 12lb on a mepps. He also lost another fish on later on in the day.

10:13 am Oliver Burch took 2 cock salmon yesterday on a Flying C spinning at Goodrich court, 1 silver, 1 colored, both 32 inches/12.5lbs.

7:09 pm Wyesham Sunday and today: A 5lbs grilse to Jo Cobley on Sunday; 3 fish 7,5,10.5 today

4:53 pm A 14lbs coloured salmon and a 6lbs salmon just taken on the fly from the Piles, Speadeagle to Neil Andrews.

1:46 pm John Mercer caught a 10/11lb cock fish at Goodrich Court over the weekend on a size 12 Cascade that had probably been in a week or 2. He also lost another.

12:23 pm Brian Skinner reports a 10lbs hen fish from Pwll y Faedda over the weekend, fairly silver, around 10 days in the river taken on a black Flying C.
