We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

10:03 am Herbie Alpass caught a 5lbs Grilse spinning on Monday on Fawley beat.

7:57 am Bucknall on the Teme has produced its first salmon (first for a very, very long time) to owner Will Davies. Historically, salmon were held downstream by a number of weirs. The fish, approx 10lbs was photographed and returned.

7:17 am 16lb fish taken of a small fly from the Island pool, Goodrich Court yesterday.

7:53 pm Mid teen fish for Huw Owen from Glaslyn on the 21st July

2:08 pm Wyesham have taken 2 this morning, 10.5lbs and 14lbs.

1:40 pm Bigsweir report they are up to 70. Recent fish have all been 10-17lb, mix of coloured and sealiced. Seeing grilse running but not catching them.

1:36 pm Danny Price 12lb fresh fish from Cadora Pool, Black and Silver Flying C this morning.

11:13 am Report from Holme Lacy 3: Yesterday James Hadden caught a 12lb fish. Last Thursday Colin Richardson had a 15lber. They also report 3 fish in June, 12lb, 10lb and 10lb.

4:14 pm Arthur Knight took a 16lbs sea liced salmon from Monks Run at Red Lion Moccas around 8.30am today.

4:05 pm A good fish was lost on the Boils at Glanwye yesterday after 15 minutes of play. The angler was said to have been in tears!

9:51 am 10lber from Wyesham yesterday also spinning.

9:48 am Brian Skinner took another salmon last weekend from Pwll y Faedda, 7lbs spinning.
