We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

7:43 pm Tony Norman lost a fish from Glangwy, Rectory as it left the pool

5:05 pm One Oliver Birch lightly hooked a fish at Pwll y Faedda this morning but lost it after 5 minutes play in the House Pool. Shortly after caught and landed 32 inch cock fish, slightly red, from tail of the Boat Pool. River then began to really colour up.

10:00 pm John Philips reports a 15lb fish from Chainbridge (Usk) today and Rhys James had a 12lber from Abernant yesterday

7:47 pm A third salmon at Spreadeagle: 10lbs to Nigel Smith

6:03 pm Malcolm Adams caught his first salmon this morning from the Spreadeagle beat. The 13lb fish took a fly in Piles.

4:31 pm Reports in that Chainbridge are up to 8 salmon for July with several caught (and lost) last week. Bridge Meadow took 10 last week also. Jean reports salmon arriving in good numbers now.

1:39 pm Nyth total now 30. Saturday one at 7lb. This morning one rod has caught 3 and lost another 2! 10lbs 12lbs and 16lb, all on fly.

1:16 pm Couple of reports from last week. Oliver Birch lost a good fish on Wednesday at Pwll y Faedda which snapped him on it's third attempt to go back to sea! Brian skinner took 2 salmon last Thursday 10lbs and 14lbs from the same beat.
