We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

3:17 pm Action at Upper Bigsweir - Ricky Reno landed 2 beautiful springers, 13lb and 15lb from the Cockpit Pool and Wayne Tyler lost a 20lb+ fish at the net in Cadora Pool.

3:47 pm End of season totals continue to come in. Wyesham added another 3 and Bigsweir 13 in the last few days. In addition to the fish mentioned below other fish reported from Cadora, Coedithiel and Upper Redbrook. In the middle river, a couple more fish were reported from a private beat below Ross. On the upper river the Rocks lifted their total to 6, and Glanwye finished on 32.
3:43 pm A last day fish for David Parry at Whitney Court (beat 3) - a 12lb hen. He was also broken by a much larger fish.
10:14 am 5lb cock grilse on a size 12 stoats tail, caught & released at Chainbridge yesterday.
10:11 am 15lb hen for Bert Williams from Craig Du at Glanwye yesterday.
10:09 am 2 from Upper Bigsweir on Saturday, both 7lb, caught & returned on a size 10 fly.

7:00 pm Congratulations to Hayden Probert who caught his first salmon from the Rectory today. Other fish reported over the weekend from Glanwye, Nyth and Wyesham and at least one was caught from the lower Irfon section of the Builth Town water.
