1:42 pm One of 16lbs taken from the Rocks on Monday, another was lost over the weekend.

1:28 pm Late report of a couple of April fish (16 and 20lbs) from Wyeside and Lower Clifford.

7:02 am Yesterday Matt Oliver took five fish at the Nyth from 12 - 18lb and a big fish was lost on Glanwye after a 15min battle when the hook straightened.

12:53 pm 10lbs taken by Stephen Marsh-Smith from the tail of the Orchard on the Llanstephan beat. No6 Cascade. Another fish lost in the Rock Pool on the Rectory.

9:13 pm The new owner of Glanwye recorded the beat's first fish with a fly caught 20lber.

8:02 pm Ken Powell had an 18lber from the Moccas/Red lion today on a spinner.

4:37 pm Stephen Barnes has just returned a fresh run 12lb salmon on fly from Ty-Newydd.

2:22 pm David Davenport has just released a 15lb hen fish from the Bridge Pool on the Rectory beat. The fish, which took a #10 Cascade, had sealice marks on its back.

6:59 pm Dennis Cotter landed a 10lbs from the Chapel catch, Llangoed and another was lost in the Orchard. Simon Evans can claim the smallest so far reported a very fresh 7.5lbs from the Rock Pool, Rectory on a #8 Bann shrimp.

2:32 pm A fourth fish for Alfred this time 21lbs from the Dollyn again on fly. 17lbs and 19lbs from the Rectory for Stephen M-S, fly and spinner.

11:45 am Alfie Pope has taken Nyth and Tircelyn's second fish of the year:18lbs on fly in the Cafn stream

2:48 pm To prove you the old adage can't catch a fish without your fly in the water, whilst everyone else is waiting for the river to drop, Alfred Pope and his friend chanced their hands on the Nyth this afternoon and were rewarded with a very fresh 14lber from the Kitty his guest has lost 2 on the fly.

12:42 pm Upper river back up to around 5ft so far and very coloured with most water coming from the Irfon.

12:06 pm A mint fresh 20lber taken on a small templedog by Graham Thomas from the Moccas yesterday.

8:25 pm One landed (9lb) and one lost on Gromain today. One lost after extended play on Llanstephan as well.

8:37 pm 10lb fish reported from beat 3 of the Moccas.

5:59 pm A colouring 9lb hen reported from the Rectory beat this afternoon. The fish took a #6 Bann Shrimp.

7:44 pm Peter Horsburgh took a 20lbs fish from the very last cast in the tail of the Leaning Willow, Gromain, yesterday evening while Nigel Smith took a 20lbs fish from Adam's catch, Spread Eagle today.

7:46 am Lower Irfon, Wye above Builth and Upper Usk are in good nick today. There is a chance in high water catches in rest of upper river. Below Hereford it will be out for a few more days yet.

1:02 pm Late report of 2 more April fish, 12lb from just below Hay on the 21st and Robin Wood had 18lber from Llysdinam on the 29th. Must have been from the part of the beat above the Ithon junction!

12:19 pm Todays rain has missed the Upper Wye and Ithon catchments. The upper river is clearing fast but dropping slowly. At current heights the lower Irfon and Wye above Newbridge are most likely and surely the bulk of the springers will be well into Wales after all this water.

10:27 am It is looking like a significant flood will affect the Wye today. The 1st and 2nd order streams around the office are huge and water was sheeting off the Black Mountains earlier this morning.

11:21 am River at Erwood rose to around 6ft yesterday. Mostly water from Ithon so pretty filthy. Irfon and Wye above Ithon are running high but clearing fast. Upper Usk also running high and clearing but at Abergavenny is it plus 6ft and very red.
Another bout of heavy rain is forecast for both catchments tonight and tomorrow.

6:36 am Caban Goch reservoir started spilling this morning. Upper Wye back up to 5ft last night. Middle and Lower Usk in full spate.
