We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

1:04 pm 4 salmon to Jonathan Heron at Wyesham this morning, all to the fly.
9:50 am 7lb fresh fish reported from Coed Ithiel (lower Wye) this morning.

10:26 am Jonathan Graves had a colouring 14lber from Coed Ithiel on Sunday and Stephen Barnes had a 10lb sea liced fish from upper Bigsweir on Saturday. Both fish were taken very early in the morning on fly.

12:46 pm 11lb fish from Golden Mile on the middle Wye yesterday. Another good fish lost at Backney early this morning with several others showing.
10:16 am A substantial run of Wye fish was seen in the Ross region yesterday. Even the canoeists reported it!

9:34 pm Fish reported from top, middle and bottom of Wye today, best fish (20lbs) was one of 3 from Spreadeagle.
12:16 pm 6lb grilse yesterday and 10lb salmon last Friday from Chainbridge on the middle/lower Usk. Both caught on spinner.
