We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

8:54 pm Glanwye: 31" and 29" hens from Tail of Duhonw for Andrew King

6:32 pm Rectory: 10lbs from Rock Pool for Local Angler's Guest on an Usk Grub

6:32 pm Nyth: An acrobatic, strong 13lb hen fish from the Corner at 3pm; A 6lb. coloured cock fish in gale force winds

4:44 pm The Rocks: 5 fish from over the weekend, 7 and 9 lb hens on Saturday, 8 and 10 lb hens on sunday with a 7 lb cock fish as well. There was also a 9 lb hen fish reported today before the weather turned too bad.

4:23 pm Spreadeagle: An 8lb fish from the Orchard Pool, was very active and went back well for Alistair Thompson.

4:20 pm Rectory: Local Angler had a 12 lb fish from the Rock Pool.

2:11 pm Nyth and Tyr Celyn: A 15.5 lb salmon from the Cafn on a GP and another lost 6 casts later for Alfie Pope.

1:51 pm Nyth and Tyr Celyn: A 9 lb salmon in the Kitty on an Allies Shrimp.

12:31 pm Edwinsford (Cothi): A 7 lb fish from the Top Croy yesterday for James Philipps, on a Willie Gunn Tube.

10:30 am Ross AC: A 21 lb cockfish from Weirend beat, the fish was caught on a cascade fly fished on a sinking line and took Matt Cooper 20 minutes to land taking him 50 yards downstream.

8:19 pm Glanwye: 3 more fish: 33" cock fish for Jonathan Morris on self tied fly from Duhonw Tail Pool, a 12 lb hen fish from Church House Pool tail, and a 36" cock fish for Chris Morley.

8:16 pm Abernant: 11 lb hen fish from Abernant Stream at 13:00, followed by a 9 lb cock fish from Lady's Pool at 14:00. Both coloured but still in solid condition, quickly returned. Another lost for Krzystof Galka.

8:13 pm Rectory: 2 for Richard Kingston today (10lb, 12lb) and third lost at the net.

7:20 pm Spreadeagle: 1st Salmon for 15 year old William Beharrell - 4lb cock fish.

7:17 pm Nyth and Tyrcelyn: A 9lb salmon from the Turn Pool, Tyr Celyn, followed by a 10 lb salmon from the Gauges at the Nyth.

3:08 pm Gromain: 8 lb fish from Bachawy for a Regular Rod.

3:06 pm Glanwye: 10 lb hen from the Lady Pool for William Fisher. A 17 lb cock fish from Squeaking Robert for Jonathan Morris.

5:33 pm Glanwye: 13 and 9 lbs fish from tail of Duhonw Pool, taken as the river started to rise.

5:32 pm Gromain: 11 lb fish from the Ferry Pool for a Regular Rod on a #10 Usk Grub. Water had risen over 1". This was the 1000th fish reported to WUF this season.

4:26 pm Craig Llyn: 8 lb Hen fish for Seth Johnson-Marshall, the 999th fish reported this season.
