We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

8:27 pm Golden Mile: 8 lbs for Colin Leach from the Planks.
8:26 pm Caemawr: 16 lbs for Ricky Reno, 16 and 10 lbs for Tiger Williams.
8:23 pm Lower Symonds Yat: Franco Boisin landed a 12lbs fish.
8:18 pm Wyesham: 11 lbs for Mike Timmis, a 6 lb for Jonathan Wright, 4 lbs for Zac Barrett, and a Local Angler had 3 at 4.5 lbs, 12 lbs and 10 lbs.
8:16 pm Ross AC: 8lb cock salmon for Trevor Hyde, from Weirend beat on Ross AC water. Fish came to a shrimp fly.
8:15 pm Glan Yr Afon (Wye): Peter Horsburgh had a 7 lb hen from the Top of Gutter, on a #4 Kinermony Killer, double with Sink tip. Also lost another and met a third.
8:13 pm Nyth and Tyr celyn: Paddy Davidson caught his first Wye salmon - 15lb from the Boat Pool.
8:12 pm Rectory: 4 today: 13 lbs, 11 lbs and 10 lbs for Richard Kingston, on a gold bodied Willie Gunn, and Simon Evans had an 11 lb on #8 Bann shrimp.

9:38 pm Whitney: A good condition 34 inch Cock fish, approx 16 lb, on small Irish shrimp fly from the tail of Locksters (beat 5) for John Levick. A 14 - 15 lb coloured cock fish from Beat 3 on a "Celtic Cascade" for Jim Cumming.
7:58 pm Nyth and Tyrcelyn: Matt Tricks caught a 16lb fish from the Kitty, at dusk on the last cast of the day.
7:00 pm Glanwye: 13lbs for Tom Wills; the 5th today.
6:20 pm Wyesham: 12.5 lbs for Tim Howard.
6:19 pm Upper Bigsweir: Fish of 12, 10, 15, 10, 6 lbs for Nathan Jubb, all from Little Run on a Willie Gunn.
5:06 pm Glanwye: Fish of 27, 16, 8 and 7 lbs, with 3 lost.
5:05 pm Llangoed and Lower Llanstephan: A productive couple of hours for Tim Hughes: a 9 lb cock fish from Dolmeudwy, then an 8.5 lb hen from the Orchard, both on an Usk Grub. Followed a couple of casts later by an angry cock fish of 20lb on a small cascade.
