We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

4:05 pm Upper Bigsweir: 12lb bar of silver cock salmon for Chris Winsor from the Little Run on a size 8 Cascade. 11lbs for Martin Sheppard also cascade and Little Run

3:26 pm Lwr Carrots and Luggsmouth: 11lbs for Glyn from Sallys on FC

9:59 am Wyesham: Huw Evans had an 18 lber on Fly, while Joe Cobley had an 11lbs on Mepp, both from yesterday.

9:55 am Spreadeagle: Fresh, lively hen fish for David Thompson on fly yesterday.

9:53 am Carrots: Not quite fresh but pristine 8lb cock fish to Chris Adams yesterday on fly (small flamethrower lookalike.)

10:47 pm Nyth: Fresh run fish of around 12.5 pounds on a #12 Jock Scott. Four lost!

3:32 pm Holme Lacy 4: A first salmon for 71 year old Paul Humpreys.....a 10lb bar of silver for his birthday. Another fresh fish of about 10lb for Robin Hemming. Both taken on FCs.

2:06 pm Glanwye: 29" from the Lady Pool fly by David Croft

2:03 pm Llangoed and Lwr Llanstephan: 18lb and 13lb Yoshinori Ishii yesterday, both on spin tackle with a Japanese lure for Cherry salmon.
