lovely beat and good choice of swims...hard going though...barbel on pellet...chub on meat

Tough day. No barbel

River with good colour and height sunny conditions all day not ideal but managed 4 good chub and a solitary barbel the other was an Eel of about 2lb,all taken luncheon meat.

River fast and coloured although started to drop in the afternoon. We fished hard in difficult circumstances without much reward, lost a Barbel late on when conditions improved.

Fished one of the weir pool swims. Started on the float with meat and had 4 chub to 3lb. Changed to feeder in the afternoon with pellets and had a slightly bigger chub at dusk. The river was visibly rising by late afternoon but was still very clear.
All in all a slow and difficult day and very wet and windy.

Fished a rising river after a lot of rain on Friday. Conditions were tricky but we had a decent number of chub on swimfeeder and luncheon meat / cheesy garlic hook-baits.
