No fish

Salmon had been seen but no catch.

One, possibly two fish seen splashing on the far bank at The Gabions pool. Other than that no sign of salmon. Hot and bright sun. Good weather for the canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddlers and wild swimmers...

Banks and pathways to the pools all very neat and tidy.

Water level good but some discolouration with algae. A few salmon showed but no takes.

Few salmon seen but we haven't managed to catch one.

River clarity now down to 12/18 inches that now makes more or less impossible for anything to see your flies, this was a great pity as we saw sparkling clean silver fish from the off and through out the day. No touches all day and not much chance due to the water clarity. When are the authorities going to do something to save our river, June used to be a fantastic month to fish !!

Fished hard for 8 hours, only one fish seen in the tail of the Vanstone pool. River at a good height but only 3/4 foot visibility one chub caught.

Fish seen but none in a taking mood sadly

Gorgeous sunny day, but water still high and coloured. A couple of fish seen moving, although they might have been Twaite Shad - not that I caught any of those either! I did catch a nice sea trout though, which was scant consolation for the lack of salmon.
