Terrible algae bloom in river reminded me of pea soup. Not a bad height but the colour was simply awful. Packed up at 11.30

Low water - getting greener and greener! Saw some fish which was encouraging .

River low and now carrying an algae bloom saw several fish but nothing was interested in the fly. Good cloud cover in the morning but this cleared after lunch.

One take on fly. Several boils with the spinner. Stopped at 1200 with the river the colour of pea soup.

A lovely day. Water height at Ross was 0.24m, so low. Algae bloom ongoing but still fishable, with a good draw on the fly in most pools. Saw 2 salmon splashes in lower Vanstone pool. Friend had a 2 1/2 lb shad and I lost a fish on Stones pool which pretty sure, was also a shad. Unable to locate access points for upper and lower lines, and Gabions pools.

Lots seen along the whole beat. One lost on a Golden Gunn, a few bumps, one follow on the Green Highlander, 9 Shad caught. Greeny colour to the water and very very warm.

Hot bright day! Lovely water, no salmon caught sadly!

Nothing caught or seen , very hot day a lot of weed floating down made conditions difficult

*guest rod - Anthony Hawkins caught his first Wye Salmon -8lb Fresh Hen from the Vanstone on the Fly.

One salmon lost in the Vanstone Pool. River level low and weed a continuous problem.
