Fish first cast that's usually a bad omen, and so it turned out to be because it took me 4 hours to catch another! Fished nymphs above and below the bridge , wasn't expecting much to be honest because the last two days on the Wye have been very slow. Conditions and water levels perfect for this beat as wading can be a little challenging ( yes i fell in ! ) fished nymphs only as I havnt seen a rise in three days.

A good day on one of my favourite beats. The river level was quite low but the grayling were shoaled up in the faster runs. All the fish came to Euro nymphing tactics. The most successful jig was a red tag.
What has happened to the “new footbridge” ? I searched but couldn’t find it.

Very light wind and generally overcast, @12°C
Good conditions. All fish caught in the morning on size 14 silver bead hare's ear nymph, not a single tug in the afternoon. Significant fallen trees on upper half of beat. Lovely to be here again.
