2 rods fished on Friday 19th August, 1 on fly 1 spinning. Conditions were rainy in the morning and dry and mild in the afternoon.
The river was in great order with plenty of fish showing in the morning and very little canoe activity which was a bonus!
Massive plus for the day was the advice and company of resident ghillie/gilly Mick Sutton. His knowledge of the beat was superb and his stories even better! It was our first time on the beat but will always book him and strongly recommend anyone else to do the same, a really top man with a good nature, and very reasonable priced!
No fish caught but we had a superb day.

Many salmon showing but not taking. Used fly majority of the time, lost a salmon about 8/9lb on a flying c in the Vanstone after a fight but the salmon won. Fished early morning and evening due to the amount of canoes going through. Water rose a few inches during the day and a little colour but still ideal fishing just a little too sunny and warm.

This was the first time to fish Goodrich and found it an excellent beat somewhat spoiled by the number of canoes. I had the services of Mick who was first class.
Plenty of fish showing but the day was very hot and sunny making conditions difficult.
However I hope to return towards the end of the season.

River very low and no signs of salar. I knew it would be hard going, but needed to get out, so didn't mind so much.

1 x slightly coloured cock salmon, 27 inches, on Bann Shrimp from the V at about 3 in the afternoon
(in between various flotillas of canoes). Many thanks to gillie Mick Sutton for his sage advice earlier and also for his hard work improving the access here. This beat used to be quite a jungle; now it's quite pleasant to get around the pools.

An afternoon session on this pretty and promising beat. Hot, sunny and low water with little flow so conditions not ideal. Saw one decent fish jump in The V, but no other fish seen. Excellent access, but I found it difficult to identify the exact point for the upstream boundary. Could a yellow post please be put into mirror the downstream boundary?
