Only my 2nd time Salmon fishing. Booked Mick the gillie, he showed me all the best places to fish and where to cast, unfortunately there were not many fish in the river and I blanked. But had a great day as this fishery is in stunning surroundings. I would recommend booking Mick as his knowledge of this fishery is outstanding plus he is a great guy with plenty of interesting stories.
I will be back and hopefully catch a Salmon.

No Salmon seen or caught. An enjoyable day nevertheless. What's happened to the 3 for 2 offer on this beat?

River slightly high but clearing well, booked Mick for the morning and as ever I strongly recommend him to anyone new to the beat or indeed salmon fishing.Unfortunately my salmon fly rod snapped due to poor technique combined with a sink tip and heavy tube fly and both of us used spinning for the rest of the day using flying c's and Micks set-up on devon minnows. I think we deserved a fish but that's salmon fishing! Will be back to this well maintained beat. Thanks Mick.

No fish today. Great day out though. Saw a kingfisher and the sand-martins building their nests by the car park.

One on for an electrifying few seconds at the Windmill Pool and then casting practice. Only saw one other fish move. Great day out though. 28 swans in the next field as I was leaving.

I booked this beat for my 14 year old son to try his hand at Salmon fishing but unfortunately the beat was unfishable due to the water level. Mick the ghillie met us and gave us a tour of the beat and gave my son some spey casting tips. We can't wait to return when the water levels are sensible. I would urge anyone fishing this beautiful beat to book Mick as he is a lovely chap and is extremely knowledgeable. He's also done an excellent job on maintaining the banks. We'll definitley be booking him when we come back during more sensible weather conditions.

River was at good height and clarity but nothing to show for my efforts. No fish seen but the fly was swinging beautifully in all pools. The gusts didn't make it easy to cast a fly but it at kept the canoeists off the river.
