The fishing was extremely hard with lashing rain and wind no fish caught not even a bite. The start of the beat is tricky in places to wade however it gets easier after the first bend. I would like to return in more favourable conditions, no fish seen rising.

Landed one and lost one WBT on czech nymph gear. Saw one other fish which rose to LDO but didn't like my presentation and promptly spooked!
A beautiful day to be out but the water was very, very low and i'm sure this had an effect on the quality of the sport...

Weather sunny, river at summer level. Fished mid morning until about 2:00pm. Sporadic hatch and rise when I arrived. Caught two on dry fly. Everything went to sleep after 1:30pm.

Fished from 8am until 1pm on various nymphs with no success. There were two elderly gentleman fishing the other bank with spinners wasn't aware that was allowed at this time of year.
Lovely beat just didnt see or touch a fish. Hopefully will come back again with more success.

Still quite a cold day with a real edge to the wind which was blowing straight downstream.
Just after 1.00 p.m.there was a hatch of LDO's and I caught 3 during the next twenty minutes - biggest just over a pound. Apart from that brief twenty minutes there was no fly or fish activity.

Aplogies for the late return. The river was low and very clear. A few LDO's appeared around lunchtime and a couple of rises were seen. No fish caught but given the conditions that was pretty much in line with my expectations.

The Usk was in excellent condition, running clear and at a nice level for the tricky wading. Quite overcast and mild. A few Sedges and Olives about but not a sign of a rise anywhere. Set up fishing the duo with a Copper Head Black Nymph on the point in the streamier runs and got into 8-10" fish fairly quickly. Sport dried up and I switched to french leader style in the deeper runs to no avail, losing my best flies on the bottom (hey ho). Altogether a lovely day, best fish 12" bar of Usk gold.

On the downside saw 3 Goosanders halfway up the beat, never a good sign.
