Not a sausage. Water very low, very warm and sunny. No hatches worth mentioning and no fish rising. Both of us tried dries, duo, nymphs - all day without avail. Farmer mentioned chaps on previous day had also blanked.

Beautiful stretch, not much in the way of fly life, one small fish seen rising on the first bend nothing else seen all day both rods a blank. River seemed terribly low on speaking to the farmer. On the way out he informed us he has never seen it so low at this time of year ever. Would definately return, and next time the Foundation staff advise me to fish the Wye for trout at a certain time, perhaps I'll listen. All in all good day.

Lovely weather and a great location but sadly another blank. Only saw a few rises and had a couple of bites but failed to connect. Maybe it will be better later in the year?

Cold wind down the valley but some March Browns about. Unfortunately, no rises and I caught nothing in 4 hrs fishing.

Only managed to fish for a couple of hours but it was enough to explore this lovely beat. There was a steady feed of Large Dark Olives all day but the cold downstream wind kept the main hatch at bay.
I caught 6 brown trout the best fish was a 18 inch cracker that took a olive green Pheasant Tail Nymph fished into the head of one of the pools. Of rising fish I saw only one but it was rising steadily in the slack margins under a tree. Although I tempted it to take an Olive Emerger after a spirited and very acrobatic fight it managed to slip the hook before I netted it. All in all a great beat and an enjoyable days fishing. The best fish of the day can be seen on my facebook page. Frank Williams.

Great location and a lovely day. First time on this water and although we both blanked, it was well worth the trip. Will go again.
