On the two occasions I have fished this lake before, carp have been cruising on the surface and/or visible stirring up the silt. Today although bright weather we did not see more than 3 carp all day. We baited swims all along the lake but never saw any signs of carp coming to feed on them. Nothing attempted to take any floaters. Martin managed a very small one at 2 lb or so. Some small bream and roach too on sweetcorn.

1 common carp 10lb 4oz and lost a very big fish.

Had 3 carp off the surface with dog biscuits, a very enjoyable day in lovely surroundings. Will definitely be coming back!

Common and mirror carp to 16lbs on sweetcorn and luncheon meat float fished and legering. Also a few roach and rudd to 8oz. Rainy and windy cleared up in the afternoon.

This is our 2nd visit to this venue, again it was hard work but what a beautiful place. Carp started showing in the afternoon. Caught bream to 5lbs, 2 eels, several roach and 3 carp, 2 at 11.5lbs.

1 carp approx 14lbs and an unexpected small chub on floating biscuit, plus another good carp lost. Should have had a few more. For those of a nervous disposition there are cattle with calves in the field alongside the lake, including an enormous bull.

Three double figure carp landed, 3 lost, largest 12lb 12oz. Carp caught on pellet. Lots of evidence of an abundance of small silver fish but difficult to catch as use of maggots is not permitted at this time of year. Great place to fish will come back again in the future.
WUF Note: The maggot restriction (June 16th to Sept 14th) only applies to the river Wye. Still waters do not fall under this byelaw.

Two common carp. 1 X 19LB, 1 X 10.4LB.

2 carp - approx 8lb each. Small bream and roach. Lots of eels.

1 x bream, couple small carp under 10lb. Very shallow water. Would I fish it again? Not sure.
