The recent cold spell probably didn't help. Managed some nice chub between us up to 4 and half pounds. Just the one barbel but a really lovely fish at 10lb 12oz. Good signs for the health of the river when a quick scoop in the margins with my landing net resulted in a handful of tiny barbel! Some small stuff came to feeder fished maggot, small chub, dace and a solitary gudgeon!

It was a rainy day so many of the swims were difficult to access due to the steep mud banks getting slippy. We couldn't fish the wooded swims due to other anglers fishing them despite us booking all 4 tickets for this stretch (it seems the stretch was double booked?). Anyway, all the barbel caught were small - between 0.5-1.5lbs. Caught two decent chub - one over 4lb and the other over 3lb. The other two chub were on the smaller side (around 1lb).

Fishing Passport Note : If you encounter other anglers fishing when you suspect they should not be present, please call the Booking Office immediately. The beat was not double booked.

Beautiful Location! Fishing was a little slow although we didn’t arrive until late morning. River could maybe do with a little more water but caught a stunning 8lb barbel about 3pm which really made the day! Will definitely be back soon!

Tough day today. River looked good, it had a bit of colour, weather was overcast. However found it really difficult. Saw a few anglers on the other side of river. None caught so it wasn’t just me. Lost a fish in the morning, nice barbel of about 8lbs in the afternoon…………… not another sniff though.

A few good chub to 3 to 4 lbs. No luck on barbell front. It is a bit of fun to access and egress, especially if any rain and not 4x4 vehicle.

Very few easily accessible and easy to fish pegs, which is a shame because I'm sure the fish are there, its just a matter of being able to fish the stretch safely and to land and return fish with the proper care while trying to not end up in the drink.
