The river was high but clear. In places the fallen trees were stacked high and it looked more like an SAS training course than a river. My first visit to the Duhonw and I took it slowly, so I didn't reach the more gorge section.
Lovely river.
Kingfisher and dipper seen.
7 trout, all to nymphs

River in flood, couldn’t get a decent cast in. Gave up late morning.

River high and coloured but clearing with reasonable visibility.
Good hatch of granom caddis from around 10 am with fish rising in the slacker water. Also saw a few large dark coloured stonefly adults on the water and a couple of what looked like brook duns coming off.
Fished dry to risers. Undoubtedly, the most beautiful looking trout I have ever seen. Blue on the gill plates with a blue sheen on the flanks and heavily spotted. Largest fish about 15 inches, all catch and release. My first time fishing in Wales was a wonderful day at a lovely venue.

Easy access to two pools through the farm, but above and below that the usual problems of steep banks, barbed wire, and treacherous wading. One trout risen; none hooked.

River had dropped and was easily wadeable and fishable. Smattering of March Browns on an off with 4 fish to dry flies and the rest to spiders. All small 9-13” but in good condition. This is a lovely beat and very accessible with few trees on the fishing bank.

A beautiful day on the lake. First time to catch my quota, did however have to stay till the evening to do it. Bank was very muddy from the rain.

Fished spiders all morning - not a nibble. Very thin March Brown hatch at 2.00 pm - 3 takes one from a reasonable (possible 3/4 lb) fish but none landed. Lasted 30 mins but not enough fly to turn them on.
