First visit to the Wye while on holiday and had high hopes, arrived early to have a good look around and get set up. Pegs along the meadow were disapointingly very overgrown and certainly didn't look as managed as I expected for the amount we paid to fish, ended up fishing near the car park as this gave reasonable safe access for my relatively inexperienced companion despite the drop to the water due to low river levels. Unfortunately however with constant disruptions from unbelievable amounts of canoe tourists we gave up fishing as a bad idea and left empty handed. Certainly won't visit here again during the weekend , we found it a busy noisey river and not the wild peacefull place I expected it to be. Would be Happy to accept a refund if offered, certainly not a venue I would currently recommend to friends.
The 3 "other " listed in the catch list were snagged canoes, not fish unfortunately!

Fantastic drive into the Courtfield Estate fishery set in the most wonderful countryside. A lot of the swims were difficult to fish in the "Meadows" with the amount of weed in the margins the river needing a good flush through.
A lot of predator action in the river with the fry and minnows under constant attack. Struggled to find the fish but another great day in beautiful surroundings thank you WAU.

What a fantastic drive into the Courtfield Estate set in the most beautiful countryside. The river looked in need of a good flush through with a number of swims in the "Meadow" unfishable due to the large amount of weed close into the bank.
Struggled to find the fish all day although that may have been due to the large amount of predator action in the swim with fry and minnows under constant attack (should have brought my spinning tackle)
Great day in a fantastic location thank you WAU.

3 Barbel, one from the car park and two in the wood towards the top end. Best fish of the week at 9lb 2oz in another freshly cut swim. We had a great week overall in tough river conditions. Will definitely be back as it's a beautiful beat and Peter is an excellent host who has done a cracking job getting the venue ready.
Back in December for the Pike season!
