Very slow section with blanket weed right across the river bottom that you can't see from the bank. That's all bar the very bottom end. Problem with there though is that it's opposite Lydbrook beach (Bournemouth beach at this time of year but in Lydbrook) and the open channel is the only accessible bit for the canoes. Once these cleared I had 4 little barbel ( 1 - 4lb) on GB feeder and pellet or meat.

Another blank day - river low and sluggish. Early weather conditions favourable but nothing showed. I appreciate that as anglers we share the river with other users but the boorish behaviour of "stag" groups coming through at increasingly regular intervals beggars belief and in the end we packed up early as conditions once again turned to clear blue skies and sunshine.

The river is very low and really needs a good flush through. The weather was cooler today and although we had high hopes, the fish weren't having it!

Lovely beat though, and it was a very enjoyable day watching the wildlife and soaking up the atmosphere.
