Very wet and windy day with the river 4ft lower than wednesday but rising with the rain. Still pushing through the middle leaving a 5ft derp calmer margin. Baited with Chemobaits ChemoR boilies and groundbait with small halibut pellets. Lots more small fish tapping the rod this time, long hair rigs avoiding the chub knocks again. Produced 6 barbel to 7lb 4oz for me on a horrible day. The field was waterlogged upon leaving and I just about got out of it. The hill was fine.
Off home now... will be back!

I arrived at home fishery at 9am to find 2 cars in the top car park. The hill down to the river is steep but ok for access. I found the Wye up a metre from mondays levels with good colour. Fished a nearside margin slack area feeding Chemobaits ChemoR groundbait with 2.5mm halibut pellets and Chemobaits ChemoR boilies.
Took 13 barbel from 3 to 9 lb throughout my 8 hrs angling with only a 1 hr quiet spell. Really enjoyed my day on here... looking forward to my return on friday!!

Really struggled today. Biggest chub about 3lb and biggest barbel around 6lb. Hoards of small fish which attacked and stripped the bait immediately they hit the water with rod top banging constantly with small fish and minnows trying to remove even hard baits which I guess meant the bigger fish were not around. The usual moron of canoeists, at least I think that is the collective noun for a flotilla of canoes is ????. It would be too depressing to count them but during the day it must be 200 plus meaning you cannot fish a line out in the flow, As you have to reel in and your line would be in more than out.
Fishing near the island a no go area it was chaos. Also something to consider here is the cattle. The parking spot downstream is in a field and the cattle were all around my car. Whilst they were only inquisitive and definitely lovely looking animals I did have to keep shooing them away from my car in case they used it as a scratching post. They were also crashing around in the swim next to me after climbing down steep bank to feed on the lush vegetation.
Not one of my better wye experiences to be fair.

Hot day and barbel only biting in the faster water. Dozens of canoes, waders and swimmers by the island, but didn't seem to effect the fish except when the canoes or swimmers got tangled in the line whilst a fish was on. Saw a salmon leap several times in the slower water. Banks were overgrown and difficult to reach, but an enjoyable day. Fish mostly caught on meat.

Day bright sun and very hot , fished from 6.45 to 20.45 . New it would be tough but having paid a fair sum to fish an exclusive stretch was not well pleased to have to cope with an Armada of canoes some of which were very curtious to be fair all manner of swimmers large groups of people comming ashore yards away and having parties and swearing drinking playing loud rap music .we caught the fish after 1900 hours but the river traffic was still high till we left .Would have been more peacefully at a water park ,never book this stretch in summer we put a lot of effort and expense to come down to fish here and our next day fishing is the upstream beat of this same area . Not looking forward to it .

A hot and sunny day with the river very low, so not ideal; but patience won out and two solid plump fighting-fit barbel came in immediate succession to each other late on in the evening to halibut pellet & feeder. Very nice fish in a very nice spot, and a lovely place to be in even without catching until then. I wouldn't much fancy the drive down and back up without a 4-wheel-drive on anything other than a dry summer day though :-}
