Low and clear conditions made tricky fishing, 1 5lb+ chub at last light

Four of us fished and we all had chub in various swims both at the top and bottom on the stretch. Barbel didn't want to feed but by adopting a roving approach we finally got one on one of the swims in the middle. Couple of nice grayling as well.

River had dropped in last week and most swims were fishable with care. Plenty of them have ropes fitted which is handy.

2 Grayling, 1 Barbel, 31 Chub

Fished for a couple of hours in the early afternoon. 3 brown trout, on nymphs, between us. Very nice spot which we will return to.

Word of warning that there is a lot of barbed wire on the gates/styles on this beat.

1 pike 12lb10oz float fished dead bait. Surprising amount of water pushed through at water lever of 0.9 metres height.

A beautiful varied beat. Only fished lower sections. A very small LDO hatch around 2 got into what felt like a decent fish but lost it in a downstream run.
