Disappointed that a large section of the river was difficult to access, due to trees and shrubs.

Didn’t fish, too windy and hailing

Horrible conditions with 45 mph cold winds. Still managed to catch 1 on a dry in brief 10 minute hatch.

A very cold windy day. A good hatch of LDOs in the fast water in the middle of the beat and a few fish coming up for them. They were very picky but I managed one take which was a cracking fish that was getting on for 2lbs. There was a flurry of March Browns that lasted all of 30 seconds and that was it for the day. A tough day but great to be out.

First trip out this year – spring has been early and river was low…. Temperature didn’t get above 5 degrees and we fished through snow flurries interspersed with bright sunshine. Occasional LDOs and March Browns were hatching together with a lot of small midges. A few fish rose occasionally but no major consistent hatch or rise while we were on the river. Two WBT hooked … one got off, the other came to hand, a nice 14” fish safely returned as always. Then about 2.30pm a black cloud and white out could be seen coming down the valley – time to beat a hasty retreat!

Sunny with an easterly upstream wind. MB sporadic hatch from 12:00 to 13:00. Lots of rises during the hatch and then the fish switched off
