Pleasant afternoon, conditions good. Encouraging fly life but very few rises. We both managed to hook 2 trout, one of which was a good size. However, didn't manage to land any!

Very tough day. Cold and breezy with little fly activity and very few rising fish. 4 trout to 13" on mixture of dryfly and nymph.

Chilly nw breeze. Watery sun. Little fly life in evidence. Fish took small use nailer fished near surface. Best brown about 2lb

Tough day; lost a good fish

Just like this time last year (although that visit was a month earlier) a great day in prospect with no return? No true hatch and only 1 ot 2 fish seen so the "early season river" legend remains a mystery? Might be an idea sawp flies for boilies as the resident chub are very impressive but couldn't be tempted to a ptn!

Balmy spring day on a scenic stretch of the Usk. Bright sun and very clear water proved challenging but 2 nice fish of 11 & 13 inches from one of the long riffles on a beaded diawl bach. Very few olives trickled off during the day but no surface activity.

Very sunny. Little activity though a few spinners were around.

Determined nymphing lost two, but an early afternoon hatch of largish dark stonefly (!) brought one kind 14 incher to the surface and thereafter net. Very different from a few weeks earlier where fly and fish were far more in evidence.

Bright sunshine and a high wind for most of the day, so pretty tough going. We managed 3 wbt between us, all taken on nymphs and all safely returned.

Difficult northwest wind. Water clear but levels still well up and flowing strongly. Tough wading in places made for a good work-out! Six brown trout to 13", mostly on nymph. All returned.
