Water was very clear, and low enough to enable wading throughout large sections of the beat. (Access points have been cut into the overgrown parts of the bank - thanks WUF).
We took numerous fish throughout the day, primarily small and feisty 'fingerlings', but some good fish were also taken using very small nymph patterns fished through the faster water at the heads and tails of pools (only one taken on a dry fly). All fish safely returned.

A charming stretch of river, a little overpriced compared with other beats though. Fishing was difficult as gin clear and very hot and bright. Deep fished nymphs taking a few small fish. There are, however, plenty of good fish here as I saw many and moved god knows how many whilst entering the water. A classic dry fly beat but not really the day for it.

A poor day, very few fish rising and nothing caught from morning to late afternoon. It is however a fantastic spot and would go back (more likely after 6pm).

A really blissful summer day, fishing in shirt sleeves. A day to keep in your mind's eye in winter! 5 wbt, the best 1.5lb, all to either PTN or GRHE fished NZ style. No dry fly offers all day. No obvious big hatches either, a steady trickle of yellow mays were ignored from what I could make out. This is beautiful water.

Booked a couple of evening tickets on this excellent beat. We arrived at 6pm but with only the occasional rising fish, decided to concentrate on the faster water. We had a few small browns and some salmon parr on nymphs but nothing substantial. Fish started to rise in the slower sections after 9pm and we had an hour or so of decent dry fly action to finish with. None of the trout caught were over half a pound but there were definitely bigger ones there. All the fish caught off the top fell to cdc emerger patterns and Adams.

I knew it was going to be a tough day with high bright skies but I wanted to get out for the day anyway. Missed two fish and other wise slow yet beautiful scenery and a good day out. Nice size salmon jumped in the pool below the bridge.

Sunny and warm late afternoon and evening and river running clear. Infrequent rises until the evening rise. 3 small wbt caught on a dry emerger pattern.

Unfortunately only 2 very small brown trout were caught which were returned to the river. However a good day.

Very warm day, with zero cloud cover so the fish were easily spooked. Limited fly activity until late in the day when the fish started to respond to sporadic hatches. Hard work, but we were rewarded with some beautiful trout to 14 inches - all returned safely.

First visit to this lovely water and not disappointed. The river was fining down after the weekend's rain and the fish were obliging. 36 wbt were caught between 4 anglers mainly on beaded PTNs fished NZ style and some taken on Iron Blues and Yellow Mays. A beautiful beat with some lovely water, looking forward to the next visit. Thanks to all at WUF.
