The stile for access above bridge is completed rotten and damaged and makes access very very difficult of not impossible. A number of the stiles are rotten and in very bad condition. Water was a little low. A steady hatch of natural flies were allowed to float downstream without any fish bothering them. I saw 2 rises all day and caught on nymphs at depth. This beat needs the stiles repairing and some of the barbed wire removing from around the stiles. It’s a wader danger spot !!

Evening ticket only. Warm evening with plenty of fly activity and fish moving. 4 takes during first half hour - one missed, two lost and one returned. After that all went quiet so back to the Seven Stars. Dry fly only - size 16 Imperial.

Plenty of Mayfly about and a few fish sporadically rising. More than 5 trees down blocking the width of the river , which combined with high sheer banks, makes for plenty of backtracking . Lost 2 and a pleasant few hours.
My skills weren't really up to the confined space requirements .

The day started cloudy and got clearer and brighter tgroughout. Water was a higher than I have experienced before but still accesible. Plenty of fly life during the day and sporadice rather than regular rises. One on a nymph in the morning at the top of the beat and another in the afternoon. Hooked a decent fishing near the access point on caravan park, but lost it soon into the battle. A lovely stretch and very helpful owner.
