1 small trout. The water level was very low; it was interesting to see the 'skeleton' of the river. Quite a bit of surface activity but I wasn't good enough to catch more!

Good day out on lovely beat, unfortunately left my nymphs at home so was using dries a for the 4 hours on the river .(limited time as. The wife was at Wonderwool in Builth. Small hatches around lunch after many changes of flies missed to good takes on a para adams size 16. River was very clear and low.

Nothing caught, tried dry fly and nymphing. Seems river has very low concentration of fish.
The river appears to have layer of silt on the bottom from farm run off which may be affecting quality of fishing. We also found 3 decent sized dead brown trout, may have been otter but were uneaten.

Not a lot was moving on this fairly cold day, saw only one trout rise and hatches were limited and small. French nymphed all day with no luck, that said we are not experts and a more proficient angler may have caught. Still a beautiful place to enjoy some much needed solitude though.

Hard frost to begin the day. River very low and clear. Weather dry and mostly bright. No action all day. Large sections of the stretch had very little flow. Long walks between the slighter deeper areas. Saw one fish the entire day. Family of otters spotted at Grandstand. Beautiful scenery. In better conditions the fish may well reappear!

Beautiful stretch of river, though I only saw about the bottom quarter in my short visit of a few hours. Very peaceful with a unique church just by the river. The water was clear. Lots of flat glides, so I'll definitely return in summer, with a dry fly.
I fished a mixture of nymphs and squirmies, to no avail. I had had some bad news on the day, so wasn't fishing to the best of my abilities.

I'll be back, in a more focused frame of mind.
