Area:Middle Wye
Beat:Middle Ballingham & Fownhope No.8
Fishing:Coarse
No. of Anglers:1
River was pushing through fairly hard upon arrival, holding alot of colour and debris. River got stronger and rose a considerable amount through the day. Bites came later in day for me but the other fisherman bites came throughout day. Ended up with a good size barbel and 2 chub. Would certainly visit again.
Travelling light is a must for this beat, a fairly steep climb back up to parking. Advertised as fishing available on both bank, but we could not figure out how to fish far bank and certainly looked alot less fishable areas.
Fishing Passport Note : Some double bank fisheries will only have access on one bank. It is always worth mentioning if a fishery is double bank as anglers can fish the beat with the knowledge that no-one will be fishing opposite.
1 Barbel, 2 Chub

As the river rises this beat becomes unfishable, it appears the locals know but not the people selling the tickets unfortunately, a wasted day.
