Having fished Cefnllysgwynne the day before, which is immediately downstream of Llanfechan and also includes part of the far bank of this beat, I can say that if anything this section of the river is even more beautiful.
Conditions were good, a crisp morning which brightened during the day. In the early afternoon a small hatch brought fish to the surface, and both a trout and a grayling were taken and safely released on a dry fly - size 16 green klinkhammer.
Also had a very nice chat with the owner.

First time on the Ifron for us. Beautiful autumn scenery and a thin Welsh drizzle to keep us company during the day. Caught a lovely 1.3lb grayling on my fourth or fifth cast of the day along a riffle in the mud pool, it fell to a red tag. The beat has an array of features and during the day managed to hook three more graying of various sizes and a tiny OOS brownie. Two took a size 16 GH green nymph and the others took an olive klinkhammer from the surface. I lost three and managed to break my 5 weight rod tip while landing a half pound grayling at the far end of the beat. Its a long walk back to the van in waders to get a spare rod. Top stretch of water, worthy of another try.

Much better conditions after yesterday's Gales! Most fish fell to an olive klinkhammer in the tail of the pools.

An early start in anticipation of Storm Ophelia and we were rewarded with four grayling plus others lost, one quite large. A strong downstream wind dictated a down and across approach with copper beaded nymphs until the wind got the better of us and we departed at 1pm.

River still pretty high, running fast but clear, so excellent conditions for a great day, and it was as expected. Grayling were really active, I stopped counting after a while but number is certainly higher than 30. All fishes were taken on a grey parachute, size 14/16. I tried to fish with heavy nymphs at the pool at the very top of the beat, and once again I hooked something pretty big, which has easily broken my 6 lb line. Great beat, I will definitely come back.

Fantastic day in great surrounding. Weather and water conditions were perfect. Plenty of fly life from mid morning onwards. bwo and various types of caddis with the large cinnamon sedge being the most prominent. 20+ grayling caught, but to be honest it could've been double this as I just stopped counting at 20. A good dozen of them on heavy nymphs and remainder on a reddish brown size 12 parachute. I believe I hooked either a very large trout or a small salmon at the tail of a deep pool. It was on for about 2/3 mind before it throw the hook. Tail looked too sharp for a trout, but I will never know. Great fun on a 3wt rod. Great day thank you.

Catch 10 graylings (or quite few more), and 4 BT... all taken with heavy nymphs. River was running quite fast, and clear in the morning. Water was coloured later in the afternoon, probably due to heavy showers. The day started extremely well, I caught a salmon of circa 8/9 pounds. It took me almost 1.30h, with my nymph rod truly under pressure, but in the end such beauty was landed. Fish had been carefully and safely released, after a well deserved recover of more than 15min. Great day!

3 trout, 8, 10 and huge 15 and a half inches. 9 grayling, 5 between 8 and 12 inches, 4 at 13-14 inches. Tough going today, the river was at .62 on the Cilmery gauge and pushing through strongly.
Plenty of rising fish but all the surface feeders were extremely selective and were constantly rejecting both size 16 and 18 dries of all sorts. All of the smaller fish took dry flies in the fast water at the very tails of the pools. The big trout and the bigger grayling took # 16 tungsten nymphs fished duo on the bottom.
