Not a peep. Wading restricted due to high fast water. Tried just above the bridge and then below. Walked up past the 3 field "no fish" zone, found a way in at a cattle drinker but again couldn't wade far. Well worth another go when the wading is easier. If you are going to try the interesting looking water at the head of the beat , allow plenty of time as it looks like a 2 mile walk from the recommended parking spot.

River was still rising through the day, topping at about +2.8m. The river was also very coloured and lots of debris coming down. Dropped in to lots of the likely looking swims with slacks. Small rattles every now and then.
1 chub between us on pellet. A very tough day indeed.

The day did not start or end well, with an officious Severn Trent employee saying we could not park anywhere near the access to the gated complex at the upper end of the fishery. I suggest those that want to fish the upper stretch of this water recheck parking arrangements with WUF.

With high water levels( around 2.2m at Ross on Wye) there are very few fishable swims . Lots of gear lost in very snaggy ground.

One of our party caught 2 X 6Lb barbel and a decent chub on luncheon meat. The other 2 anglers had very few bites and no fish. The successful angler's day was ruined when his car got stuck in the grass verge adjacent to the Severn Trent complex and it took many hours to get extricated from a tricky and dangerous situation.

We will not be returning to this fishery.

Fishing Passport Note : There is parking at the gated complex belonging to Severn Trent Water. Cars can park for the fishery here without obstructing access.

Arrived at the river to find the pool swim inaccessible due to the high levels . This was a bit of a blow but safety first ! Fished the only 2 swims available , not a lot happening here today , a complete polarisation from yesterday’s bonanza .
With the constant rain and zero action I decided to call it at 5 pm . Still a great beat and looking forward to next season
