10 Chub all on Pellet, the sizes were varied between 2 and 4 llb the water was up and coloured.
I would suggest travelling light if you are fishing down stream towards the rocks, there is some hills but levels out after 1/4 of a mile or so.

Beautiful morning, early start. Not been here for couple years. Lovely sunrise on the walk down. Caught steadily through the morning on a slowly rising river. Nothing on float except some big dace, all on feeder, various baits. Not as prolific as usual here but still a wonderful setting to be on a sunday morning into lunchtime.

Two not three fished on a warmish overcast morning. River up about half a metre on normal summer level with a nice flow and a ting of colour. Cardiac hill conquered we settled on either side of the lucky stone. With the increased level this was a little tricky without waders meaning the one above the stones had to go a little further up. This put him just above a big snag and after losing two complete feeder rigs, numerous hooklengths and a couple of fish it, he moved down to the meadow where he added 9 chub to the two he got out from the stones. The stone itself produced chub steadily throughout the day fist and last things on the feeder, with everything I tried on the hook, but the bulk to pellet over pellet on the float to 4lb. Fished the last hour on bomb and bag further upstream than I could reach on the feeder. This produced the lone (mint) barbel of 6lb 15 mins before packing up. All in a great day. Hats off to whoever took a spade to the dodgy bit in the wood. Minimal change, just a few incisions for foot holds, but it's made it safe for now.

Could hardly keep the rod in the water with all the Chub. Unfortunately no Barbel showed up, probably did not have a chance to find the bait. First time in 6 visits to this stretch that I have not managed a Barbel. River in nice condition, but this stretch is not for everyone as the walk from the car park is hard work.

River was up a good couple of feet on normal summer levels and was ripping through. Fished the lucky stone in the morning for 4 chub to 3.5lb before heading to the New Inn for a spot of lunch and a pint.
After watching a few overs of the local cricket match we headed back to the river, didn't fancy the trek back through the woods so fished the swim by the boathouse. Sun was blazing for most of the afternoon but we managed 3 more chub and 3 barbel which were all around the 6lb mark, not huge but great sport in the flow. All fish taken on pellet fished with a feeder.
All in all a good day, only negative was the lack of access to swims, doesn't seem to be much in the way of bankside maintenance going on.

River still dropping with a tinge of colour, torrential rain today made fishing difficult, not able to access the woods as to dangerous. Fished two pegs up from the woods as it had space for two of us to get under a brolly. Managed to catch 4 chub between us and had to work hard for bites as fish not confidently feeding, caught on pellet band mostly but one fell to meat.

Enjoyable day as ever. Fished the pegs in the woods around the Lucky Stone. Plenty of Chub action but the Barbel are still hard to come by on this section at the moment. Mind you, the one that was caught tipped the scales at exactly 10lb so was a good fish.
One point to note is that the path through the woods is particularly treacherous in one area and is particularly so after rain.
