Enjoyable day on the stretch with a couple chub , an eel plus a minnow. We had 1 barbel at the end of the day.
It was a decent walk in made more challenging trying to get through the kissing gates. They were pretty over grown and made hard work of getting through them without ripping clothes or being stung by nettles.

A good day and not too hot. Fished the lucky stones in the forest-path ok if your travelling light. Really good chub fishing on both float and feeder using pellets. Barbel are there if you are patient enough with 2 @ 7.5lb caught on barbel bomb dumbells with feeder. Fishing was a bit up and down with slow patches but some great sport!

Two fished. All the chub were in the 2 to 3 pound bracket, with the barbel being around 8 pounds. We also caught 3 eels.
The walk through the woods is treacherous, so be careful.

12 degree air temp on arrival this morning with a 20.8 degree water temp. Just me today so I had the stones to myself. Started trying to catch a barbel as it was cooler, and committed to this till 1000. 10 chub later I decided on one last cast on my bomb and bag and was rewarded with a 6lb barbel. Gave them a good while in the net before unhooking and again before release. Lots of kicking in the net and swam off strongly. Pushed for another one for half and hour before having 6 chub on the float on meat. Packed up at 1330.
