Near enough torrential rain all day but river up with decent colour so the Barbel played ball.

Only 2 anglers fished.

13 Barbel, 4 Chub

Lower field produced only chub and eels, found the barbel at the peg just above the rope swing.

3 Barbel, 8 Chub, 3 Other

River looked good, still rising a bit and coloured. A very bright and breezy afternoon but I hoped for some action. However all I caught were a few small chub. Thought about changing swims but then around six o'clock I had a barbel and decided to stay put. However no further sign of barbel, just some more chublets, with one decent fish and an eel. All on pellet or sweetcorn.

Lots of Small Chub and Dace on the float using corn upto 10lbs of bits 4oz to 1.5lbs. 5 Chub 2.5 to 3.5LBs Plus a small Barbel. Spotted a few Big Carp on a gravel bank and managed to hook one but it took off breaking 20lb hook length. Couldn't control it as on high bank so it went where it wanted into snags :(

Only fished a few hours in the evening beautiful spot

We caught 18 Barbel up to 7lbs & 21 Chub between 2.8 & 4.8lbs.

Took my fishing mad 10 year old daughter to catch her first barbel and chub. She had a pb chub of 3lb 8oz and a pb barbel of 8lb 8oz all on swim feeder and pellets.
Wildlife was amazing.

Only able to fish the morning but lots of action on a very pretty beat. River rising after the rain. Fish caught on trundled pellets and meat. Path marked on WUF map has “no footpath” sign next to it. So a bit confusing but probably a good idea not having fishermen clumping though the churchyard!
