Spent an hour mid-afternoon on beat 2. No fish seen however sightings of a hen harrier and a great white egret helped cushion any disappointment. Headed up to Teifi Pools for the rest of the afternoon. A couple of fish seen rising but no contact made. A good number of cranefly getting blown on to water.

Started at Llyn Teifi, good conditions and calm but walked around the whole reservoir and only saw one fish moving. No joy. Then tried to find the upper river beats - really frustrating, as newbies to the area we followed the directions to the beats but found most to be completely inaccessible and with no beat markers - beat 1 for instance seemed to run for miles through people's gardens with no access to the river at all, beat 2 was not obvious where you could fish with the river being fenced off with electrified wire. Eventually we found 7a and that was accessible - couple of fish rising there but couldn't tempt them. We'd already spent hours trying to get to the fishing! If someone could help about where to fish the upper beats for our next trip that would be great.

Hot bright sunny day. Started Beat 7B, only 1 rising fish. None caught. Beat 5, from footbridge back to start. 2 fish caught small deer hair fly. Targeted as rising. Occasional rises only.
Headed to lyn teifi for evening. Nice rise but sipping feeding, several takes on dry black knat, good hatch of small flies at dusk. Lovely days fishing, wonderful locations visited by 2 foxes, red kite and a squirrel.......

I fished the River Camddwr in the mountains, its more like the stream fishing I did in the hills and mountains outside Melbourne. It was great! not loads of water in the river but had a few splashy takes near the chapel where I parked. Truly remote fishing. I didn't see anyone all day and there's no signal so if your planning on heading up let people know where your going as there are some deep pools and falls further up stream. I really cant wait to get back up here in spring.
One fish to hand and 3 lost.
