Plenty of decent fish rising, mostly tantalisingly out of reach. The activity died down as the cold wind set in and only got a few knocks on the wet. A beautiful lake and any shortcomings were solely the fisherman’s today!

Blanked again but lovely, desolate spot. Got lost using the WUF directions! No signs amid a multitude of gateways, unmetalled tracks etc. Far better especially if approaching from Aberystwyth is to take the road signposted Teifi Lakes in Ffair Rhos. This is metalled all the way to the lakes although a bit wiggledy and up and down! What a superb location

Windy, making casting tricky at times. Fished wet fly, only saw one fish take any interest.

As it says in the brochure, serious wilderness fishing. About as remote as it gets in The Fishing Passport area. Some people will love it, others may get a bit lonely up there! Go on a good weather day otherwise you will feel like you're on the set of Heathcliff! Three trout, 8 inches. I quite enjoyed it but there's an eerie, wild feel to the place. Thanks again WUF.

Fabulous setting. Fished the afternoon. Started on a dry with a few hatches, but there were only a small handful of sporadic rises so I moved onto a team of traditional wets. Immediately I touched a fish, but that was the only one all day. I will return.
Note that the road approaching Llyn Hir is much less developed than that for the other two and without a 4x4, I did not risk it given the wet weather.
