Hottest day of the year. Blazing sun all day. No clouds. No fish rising but I continued in anticipation of a spectacular late evening rise like the one the night before when I arrived. Zilch, although conditions appeared to be identical. Caught one 10" trout from Llyn Egnant. But what a stunningly beautiful place to fish.

Fished Lyn Teifi from 11.30 am to 5pm. Fly fishing with floating line and traditional flies black Pennel, Zulu, soldier Palmer etc. No surface activity despite ideal conditions warm steady south wind and overcast. Caught only 3 fish.killed 2 for breakfast. Fish were stuffed with a grub like larvae so obviously bottom feeding. Used to fish Teifi pools as a boy 60 years + ago and fish were more prolific then.

All llyns very windy and rough, so my husband fished but I went walking instead. At the end of the day he caught one brown trout and really enjoyed the day for the isolation and wildness. Fantastic scenery and sunny but cold in the wind.
Access very good, parking easy and close to the llyns. We will definitely be going again.

Very windy and bright sun. Fished dry flies and nymphs for 3 hours. No bites.
