I fished both Egnant and Teifi in fairly cool, overcast conditions, but fish were up and I had plenty of offers to my team of small hoppers, mainly the top, greased up, claret pattern. Most fish were 9/10 inches, but I had two good pounders, one of which I kept. Wonderful place to fish, I'll be back.

First visit. Enjoyable throughout. Strong easterly wind made conditions a little difficult. Very occasional rising fish to terrestrial insect. Two fish 12 and 8 inches to sun and wind pattern, both returned. Six or so other takes throughout the day

A great day out on Teifi pools, in blazing bright sunshine. Fished from dawn to dusk to ensure we made the most of morning and evening activity. CT 18 fish, MM 7. There were lots of 14 to 16 inch fish in the mix, best being a supeb 18 incher off Llyn Hir. Huge swarms of buzzer about, margins were like a soup of buzzer shucks early AM. Lots of pond olives seen too. Rises became scarce from mid-day day due to the bright light, but an intermediate line worked well despite the conditions. In the evening it switched back on, with fish moving just a few yards out from the shore, until an eeire bank of fog rolled in off the hills and ended play around 9pm. The fishing and fly life seems to be improving here year on year, the best I've known it in 20 years of visiting the place.

Weather gods were on my side and I arrived at 1030 to near perfect conditions. Fished approximately 50% of the bank (track side)using a variety of traditional patterns under the guidance of Hywel Morgan. Zulu on top dropper as dabbing fly with GRHE on point all on a 5wt Floater and 5lb fluor leader. Missed 2 takes as flies decended/at surface before hooking and landing a beautiful brownie of around 18 inches in length - absolute stunner on the point GRHE. The fish was returned safely. Got snapped off after a vicious take later in afternoon - again on GRHE. Great day at a special place being mentored by one of the best on his home patch. Recommend fishing on edge of ripple if conditions allow- fish were mainly rising 15-20 yds out generally. Odd terrestrial fly about incl daddies.Best of luck.PS Angler on Llyn Teifi reported a couple of fish to dries

Baking hot day on Teifi pools. Started 11am on llyn Teifi, ended up with 9 fish to 12 inches, missed and lost quite a few by 2.00pm. Then onto Llyn Hir, worked hard for an hour to get one fish, a cracker of 16 inches or so. Onwards to Egnant, had 3 to 15 inches, plus lost a couple. Finished off at 5.30 pm. The key was to use a clear fast intermediate fly line (Airflo velocity) to get down a foot or two. Flies with peacock herl worked well – Ke-He, Coch y bonddu. There were a few beetles on the water that the fish were sporadically picking off.
