Wading and long trotted flake for the chub on the upper section beat 2. Had 8 in the short time there with one fish nearing the 5lb mark. I decided to give up when some canoeists decided to watch me play a chub and in doing so passed over the area I was fishing. It would be good if a message could go out to the canoeing community asking them to pass by anglers and not linger under any circumstances.
Anyway this is three miles of beautiful water.

Nice fishery but watch out for the cows. River was a bit low but I caught 7 Chub and had a close encounter with an Otter, which popped it's head up about 2 metres away then bolted when it saw me. Two of the Chub had teeth marks in them.

Low conditions, but once fish are found, they could be caught steadily throughout the afternoon.

I'm new to paying to fish, I normally find free waters or buy a membership rather than pay for a day so I must admit I was hoping I caught something after paying! I have to say I was impressed. Terry was very friendly and easy going which is so important as I have met precious fishery owners who are very off-hand and make you feel they are doing you a favour, not so with Terry, a very nice gentleman, great advice, interested and couldn't have asked for more, thanks Terry. On to the fish. A slow start at 6am, a nice 4lb chub at 8am then a very quiet day no fish until 6.30pm when I reeled in five more chub all around the 4lb mark. So although frustrated during the day, patience paid off resulting in the best haul of chub I've ever had. No barbel but they are there. Only negative I can say is the herd of cows can be a pain. They surrounded me at one point, creating a cow wall and trapping me with the cows one side and wall the other. Hhad to wait until a gap appeared! All part of the fun tho! I'll certainly be back, thanks to Wye and Usk and Terry for a great day.

This is a cracking stretch with some really great water to go at. I fished beat 3 and 6 and although it wasn't easy fishing I enjoyed the day very much and caught a new float caught PB chub @ 5lb 3oz so very happy!

Got there at 2.30pm. Had already been warned by Terry it was high and coloured so may not be worth going, except with a spinning rod. He was right! Walked the beat for half an hour just to have a look and left at 3pm.
