2 Trout, 2 Grayling

Managed one very hard fighting trout of 13"
Was pleased with this as most of beat was unfishable due to drought conditions.
Much of beat is inaccessible anyway, will not be coming here again.

~8in trout on a mayfly towards the bottom end of the beat.

2 trout on the nymph no rises to speak of ,strong wind coming down the river.

Just a little kick in the water level, and a little colour too, from Tuesday's rain made me hopeful. Lots of flies in the air as well. But there weren't many fish showing. First time on this beat, and I'll be back again, if only to learn where the best access points are to some very attractive water. Caught two trout on downstream nymph.

I found it difficult today, next to no fish rising, managed two on nymphs, sunny and showers with a strong saw wind.

The lower section below the bridge has camping activity along the bank and the river has been heavily impacted by human activity with rocks piled into dams and pools etc across the river. I would not bother fishing this section.
Above the bridge is much better with a series of runs and glides that are very promising. Tree branches hang low over the river. I used a 2-wt 6ft rod mostly with olive dun and similar to match the insects seen on the day.
Unfortunately I blanked. But had fun.
