Great value for money and very knowledgeable and helpful guide - Terry - but mainly a spinning/bait water, I think. Water difficult to read for a small river fly man like me. No salmon seen or caught, but plenty of trout about, some of them large.

River high with a little colour but improving by the hour. One fish lost in the morning but a fish of about 12lb caught in the afternoon by a syndicate member.

1 Salmon

Good to see some effort going into the maintenance of this beat, thank you. River 1'5" falling, strong wind made casting trying. A solid take off the bottom croy on bt6, but it was not to be. Catch-nil.

One salmon seen (jump). Some big chubs and some grayling caught although targeting trout. One American mink observed.

Whitney Court beat 4. Fresh 20+ LB fish to David Dugdale on spinner. Sunday afternoon. The only angler on the beat - what a waste.

1 Salmon

First time out for salmon in 12 years, new beat, new rod, new reel. Alas nothing seen or caught. Thanks to Terry for his advice on the beat.

Lovely day out on beats 1 (morning) and 3 (afternoon). My first time out with a Salmon rod, so not anticipating to catch, and in that I was not disappointed, as I didn't catch. But I had a great time, thoroughly enjoyed the beats, and look forwards to catching a Salmon next time! Many thanks to Terry for excellent advice.

Freezing cold, water not great for fly, but caught a 12 lb springer spinning with a black flying 'C' on Beat 6. No fish showing and no one else fishing.

Another challenging but very enjoyable day on Whitney Court. Very low, clear and cold is always going to make things a little tricky. Fortunately the pike were game during the day and I managed a couple of low doubles. The chub then came out to play in the last hour before dark. Saw a juvenile otter when we first arrived and had a large dog otter scare the living daylights out of me just as it was getting dark.
