River very low again and gin clear. Clear blue skies and bright sunshine meant today was always going to be challenging. Managed a modest barbel first time using a centre pin. A fantastic experience and a great end to a brilliant few days.

Excellent fishing - casting to rising fish was a challenge with a gusty downstream wind, but lots of fun. good to see the river with a bit more water in it coming down from the Pennines after the recent rain. all 8 fish taken on #18 DH caddis - 12' leader and 3' of 0.14mm 6x tippet

Fished for a few hours. had a 15" fish on a nymph and missed another take. Only saw a few rises when I was there so nothing on dry fly. River was low and clear despite heavy rain the day before.

Water levels were good today and the brown algae had reduced. Fished from mid day until 4 ish. Fished the dry dropper, but only saw a couple of fishing raising, so switched to a PTN under an indicator. Managed to hook 5 fish but lost 4 of them. Later found out why I lost so many, as my PTN hook had straightened out slightly! Must have done that on the many snags I encountered . There’s a lesson there somewhere!

Llyn semi full, up to the grass verges so mostly mud and rock on the bottom. Easy access all around, unlike when it is full. Generally still with occassional gentle breeze and mainly overcast. Fished the morning up to noon. No takes on daddies/mayfly or pennell, but small Kate Mclaren pulled in a nice Brown trout on the last cast: 13”, 313gms
