River water level quite low. Weather 30+ degrees, cloud 0/8. No show of Barbel as previous visits but managed to catch two very nice Chub. (4/14 & 5/2 Ibs). Tactics used - 12ft rod, sliding open ended feeder loaded with ground bait, small pellets and hemp seed. 0.5m hook length, 14mm banded pellet and size 12 wide gape BARBLESS hook. Also enjoyed the two common sandpiper birds bombing up and down the river - obviously nesting nearby. :)

Couple of chub at dusk no barbel showing, could still sit here all day without catching and enjoy. Will be back in the autum

River level up and more colour after rain yesterday, thought might be good day, not a bite! Saw salmon leaping and what could have been a shoal of shad, to big for dace. Try again tomorrow.

Weather hot ,river low slow first day no barbel heard rumour they are spawning but chub obliging as always

Fly fishing for trout - unsuccessful as a very windy afternoon - but a beautiful spot and the warden could not have been more helpful.
