Overnight rain (15mm) didn't affect the river until late afternoon when the water coloured up slightly and the level rose about 25cm over the course of three or four hours. The river looked perfect but fishing remained difficult

Only ended up fishing in the evening,water was clearing after heavy rain, had 3 in total,largest 14inches

1 nice grayling, approx. three quarters of a pound 3 little trout, approx 6 to 9 inches. All on nymphs, "across and down."
No fly hatching, except two lovely big mayflies, no rising fish. Pleasant day enjoyed. thank you.

1 x small brown trout caught and released on barbless cruncher (black and silver) close to waters edge. Water has risen dramatically over the past week now covering areas of grass rather than just mud when water is very low.

I only fished for 45 minutes or so in the late morning as we walked up the Pennine Way. Not wanting to get my boots wet I couldn’t cover a lot of water, but did enough to establish that the fish were not active.

Fished from about 1730-1830. Tremendously windy. Caught one tiny brownie on a dry and lost another which took a nymph. Also landed a better fish of maybe 10 inches which was foul hooked.

A dozen or so on and offs /LDRs and just one trout to hand.
The one took an F Fly. Pleased to get one on a dry!
