Extremely skinny water - probably not worth fishing again until late season after some good rains. Had one take on a dry but otherwise no fish sighted

Great fishing fish fell to dry fly most pools held fish which were happy to take. All round lovely river and lost a surprising large fish in the wier.

Fly & spinner from 0800. Drizzle clearing , not much wind. 2 trout on spinner first thing, lost a third. A few fish moving. After 0900 absolutely nothing. Packed in at 1030. Daytime in mid-summer is usually not very productive - need to be very early or very late. Probably won’t go again until September.
