Not the ideal day, wet and cold. River a bit high but clear and fishable to start with but last nights rain put the level up so gave up about 2ish, just as the weather strted to improve....Fished the SHFC most of the day but did go down 3 with the fly rod just to try a skagit line out. Did see a couple of fish moving through and had a really good pull on 4. There's a good sized dead fish on the bank at Locksters minus most of its head… Otter breakfast I think! One day I'll get it right.

Great day but river brown as chocolate and pushing through. Unfishable really but still couldn’t resist standing in the river for the day. ????

Beat was fine river looked good but no fish seen, will return later in the year

39" / 22lb fresh hen fish, beat 3, yellow & black tube fly this morning, safely returned.

Interesting day. Water lower than I expected and running very clear. Fished most of the day with the fly rod and had a couple of pulls followed by a trout of about a pound on a Cascade tube. Hooked something on a FC in the slack water on Locksters, a couple of shakes and it was off. I suspect it was a pike looking at the teeth marks on the rubber. Did see a fish show on beat 3 but it wasn't interested in my offerings. We had a hatch of canoes around mid-day. All very polite and no trouble. Dare I say it…. but I think we need some rain...….!

Another Springer today 19lb in the big McLean's weighnet. Arrived late 10.30 no sleep, 3rd cast beat 1 3" rubber shad, result! Fished 3 and 5 with fly big Springer showing on 3.
